QPR have agreed the signing of midfielder Matteo Alberti for an undisclosed fee from Italian Serie B side Chievo.
The 19-year-old will put pen to paper on a four-year contract at Loftus Road on July 1.
The deal signals QPR's first dip into the Italian transfer market since Flavio Briatore took over the west Londoners and comes just 24 hours after the club unveiled Iain Dowie as their new manager.
Alberti has yet to make his full league debut for Chievo but Rangers claim they have beaten off competition from a number of Serie A clubs to land his signature.
He becomes QPR's third new signing, following Tottenham goalkeeper Radek Cerny and Newcastle defender Peter Ramage, during what promises to be another busy transfer window at the wealthy Championship club.
As part of the agreement, Chievo will travel to Loftus Road for a pre-season friendly on Saturday August 2.
