Groclin Dyskobolia sporting director Tadeusz Fajfer claims West Brom are interested in signing their highly-rated Poland midfielder Radoslaw Majewski.
Reports in Poland claim Albion officials are set for talks with the Polish club about the 21-year-old, who has been capped three times by his country.
Fajfer insisted those stories were a little wide of the mark, but did confirm that the Baggies were monitoring the player.
"To say that there have been talks between the two clubs is very premature and incorrect," Fajfer told the Birmingham Mail.
"We are aware that West Bromwich have looked at Radoslaw and are interested, but as yet there have not been any discussions. Whether there will be is up to them.
"Suggestions that we are already in talks are a figment of someone's imagination but I cannot deny that there isn't an interest."
Meanwhile, West Brom have announced a third pre-season friendly. After already confirming games at Shrewsbury (July 22) and Walsall (August 5), Albion will also face Cheltenham at Whaddon Road on July 23.
