Scunthorpe midfielder Grant McCann is doubtful for the home clash with Ipswich on Saturday afternoon.
McCann, a January transfer window signing from Barnsley, sustained a knock in the midweek defeat at Wolves and could require a late fitness test.
Defender Izzy Iriekpen is expected to return to contention following illness and manager Nigel Adkins has no other new injury or suspension worries, although full-back Marcus Williams remains sidelined through illness.
Adkins is not expected to make any unforced changes, with Geoff Horsfield expected to continue up front alongside Martin Paterson and Matt Sparrow partnering Jim Goodwin in central midfield.
Sparrow and Goodwin are treading a suspension tightrope with both on nine yellow cards for the season.
The Iron, six points adrift of safety with seven games remaining, are desperate to clinch a seventh home win in their fight for survival.
Ipswich defender Richard Naylor is set to miss the rest of the season as Jim Magilton prepares his squad for the trip.
Naylor slipped a disc in his neck in the autumn and despite making a brief return last month has suffered a recurrence.
Magilton told the club's official website: "Bam-Bam has seen a specialist and we are waiting for the results.
"It looks like he may need an operation and if that is the case then we won't see him playing again until pre-season."
On-loan Crystal Palace striker Shefki Kuqi is out after he suffered a hamstring injury on his second debut for the club last weekend while midfielder David Norris is also sidelined after he picked up a heel injury.
Danny Haynes is set for a start in place of Norris on the right of midfield while top scorer Jon Walters faces six weeks out after surgery on his injured knee.
