Norwich v Colchester

Norwich v Colchester March 21 2008

Norwich manager Glenn Roeder is set to hand a debut to new signing Maceo Rigters as his stuttering side seek a much-needed win at home to relegation-haunted Colchester.

Rigters arrived at Carrow Road on Wednesday on loan from Blackburn until the end of the season and could be thrown straight into the starting line-up to provide some firepower up front.

Midfielder Darel Russell is poised for a recall after completing his latest ban but after missing five of the last six games through suspension could be restricted to a place on the bench.

Darren Huckerby came through 90 minutes unscathed against Sheffield United last weekend after his hip and groin problems and could start again.

James Henry has returned to Reading after a loan spell but left-back Adam Drury (knee) and Luke Chadwick (shoulder) remain long-term absentees.

Colchester captain Karl Duguid is the latest addition to the treatment room for the bottom side ahead of the trip.

Duguid damaged knee ligaments during Tuesday night's defeat by Hull and although he is back in light training, he will not be fit for the all-East Anglian clash.

Defenders Chris Coyne (hamstring) and Pat Baldwin (knee) are also training again but will be short of match fitness while veteran striker Teddy Sheringham (foot) is another who is unlikely to be ready.

Midfielders Kevin Watson (calf) and Mark Yeates (shoulder) are out for the season while goalkeepers Aidan Davison (shoulder) and Mark Cousins (appendicitis) remain sidelined.

The Us received one boost this week, however, with the news that full-back Phil Ifil's red card against Hull was overturned after the club appealed to the FA.
