Luis Aragones is sweating on the fitness of Liverpool hitman Fernando Torres ahead of Spain's friendly with Italy.
The prolific striker suffered knocks to his ankle and ribs during the Red's 3-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester United on Sunday and was excluded from Monday's training session.
The bad news for the Spain boss is it looks increasingly unlikely that the 23-year-old will be fit enough to play a part in the international clash on Wednesday.
However, Torres' Anfield teammates Xabi Alonso, Jose Reina and Alvaro Arbeloa are all expected to be part of Aragones' final squad.
Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez will be hoping none of his players suffer any injury setbacks during the encounter and will want to have the club's leading goalscorer this season ready for Sunday's Merseyside derby with Everton.
