No senior call for keeper Hart

No senior call for keeper Hart March 19 2008

Stuart Pearce has rested a host of players for England Under-21 side's friendly against Poland next week but goalkeeper Joe Hart has remained in the squad.

Hart's form for Manchester City put him on the radar of Fabio Capello, with the England boss describing the youngster as "very interesting" ahead of the senior side's clash in France.

The 20-year-old is expected to be in goal at Molineux instead, despite Under-21 coach Pearce taking the opportunity to look at his fringe players.

Established Under-21 players such as skipper Steven Taylor, Tom Huddlestone, Mark Noble and Theo Walcott were not included in the 20-man squad, and James Milner is injured.

Gabriel Agbonlahor was included in Capello's first squad, and the youngsters Pearce has rested could still be called up to the seniors this week.

Tottenham winger Aaron Lennon was also among those not included by Pearce, but Nedum Onuoha remained in the squad and is likely to be named captain in the absence of Newcastle defender Taylor.

Matt Derbyshire also returned after missing the win over the Republic of Ireland as his wife was set to give birth to twins and Manchester City midfielder Michael Johnson is back from injury.

Pearce will also have a look at Fraizer Campbell, the Manchester United striker is on loan at Hull.
