Ben Arfa: On Wenger's wishlist

Wenger admits Ben Arfa interest March 28 2008

Arsene Wenger has admitted he is keen on luring Lyon winger Hatem Ben Arfa to Arsenal in the summer.

The Gunners boss is one of many admirers of the France starlet with Manchester United and Tottenham also showing reported interest in Ben Arfa.

But the 21-year-old still has two years left to serve on his contract at the Stade Gerland and the Ligue 1 giants are determined to keep hold of him.

Wenger revealed he would be willing to pay what is thought to be a hefty asking price if the highly-rated youngster became available.

He told The Sun: "If Ben Arfa is for sale, then we are very interested."

Meanwhile, the Emirates outfit have also been linked with a swoop for impressive Barnsley goalkeeper Heinz Muller.

The Tykes stopper is currently sidelined with a knee injury, but is reported to have captured Wenger's attention following his heroic performances at Oakwell.

The 29-year-old is touted to be the replacement for fellow German and out-of-favour Arsenal keeper Jens Lehmann.
