One of the most experienced sports broadcasters in the UK, Steve Rider re-joined ITV in early 2006. He fronts ITV's coverage of the Formula 1 World Championship and, with Jim Rosenthal, will present ITV's live Champions League matches.
Steve began his career in local newspaper journalism before joining Hayters sports agency as a reporter. After a spell as a sports presenter at the newly established LBC/IRM radio network, he began his television career at Anglia television where he was Sports Editor.
In 1980 Steve made his network debut presenting ITV's coverage of the Moscow Olympics, and went on to present both ITV's 'World of Sport' and 'Midweek Sports Special'. After joining the BBC in 1985, Steve regularly presented both 'Sportsnight' and 'Grandstand' and fronted the BBC's Formula One coverage until ITV won the rights in 1997. Steve led ITV's World Cup team for Germany 2006.
