Barcelona president Joan Laporta has insisted nothing less than £32million will prise Ronaldinho away from the Nou Camp.
The Brazilian international is expected to leave the Catalan giants in the summer following a disappointing season disrupted by injury and poor form.
Serie A and city rivals AC Milan and Internazionale have been vying for the 28-year-old's coveted signature, with the Rossoneri thought to be in pole position to land Ronaldinho.
But the Samba star's agreement with Milan is hanging in the balance after the Italians baulked at Barca's asking price as Laporta has no intention of selling the playmaker, who is currently sidelined with a thigh injury, on the cheap.
However, he went on to suggest that Ronaldinho could well remain in Catalunya after playing down problems between the player and club.
"I only say that Ronaldinho is worth more than 40 million euros" Laporta said in Gazzetta dello Sport.
"He has never created the slightest problem and I'm sure he will return to how he was before, as soon as he is well.
"He just needs to find new motivation, but it's no foregone conclusion that he has to leave because he can find this with us, given that his contract runs until 2010."
There has also been strong interest from clubs in the Premier League, but Laporta reckons that Ronaldinho is likely to ply his trade at the San Siro if he does move on.
"We have had many offers from England, but Milan is the team who have showed the best interest," he added.
