Ben Arfa: Could become a Gooner

Ben Arfa reveals Gunners talks May 12 2008

Lyon's young sensation Hatem Ben Arfa has revealed that Arsenal have shown an interest in acquiring his services.

The 21-year-old was voted Young Player of the Year in France and has drawn interest from a number of clubs including Marseille, although the Gunners seem to be the frontrunners.

And Ben Arfa has admitted that talks around a move to North London have taken place.

"It is true that we have spoken about Arsenal, but we will see how it is going to happen," he told L'Equipe.

"If I stay at Lyon, it is to play. Wherever I go, it will be to play.

"The season is not over yet, two games are remaining (one in Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France final).

"Today I am at Lyon. We will see what tomorrow is made of. I try to give my maximum and to give everything when I am on the pitch."

Les Gones coach Alain Perrin has been loathe to give Ben Arfa a starting berth despite his obvious talent, a fact that the youngster finds frustrating.

"It is frustrating when I am on the bench but it is part of the job," he said.
