Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo reminds him of the late great George Best.
Ronaldo eclipsed Best's United record for goals in a season from midfield when he scored his second in the 2-0 win over Bolton last week.
It took the Portuguese international's tally for this campaign to 33 - which he then further improved with a strike against Liverpool in the vital 3-0 victory at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Ferguson admits he sees parallels between the pair - not just in the goals scored but also in their style of play.
The Scot told Manchester United Radio: "There are certainly similarities [between Ronaldo and Best].
"When George played as a winger I don't think he ever stayed still. He roamed from side to side - he played on the right, the left and through the middle.
"I've looked at Best's goals and a lot of Cristiano's are similar. He starts from wide positions before cutting inside. The boy's in tremendous form right now."
