PSV Eindhoven's second-leg tie at home to Tottenham in the last 16 of the UEFA Cup on Wednesday is set to go ahead despite concerns surrounding police strikes.

Three Eredivisie games were postponed on Sunday because of industrial action taken by Dutch police following a dispute over wages, but PSV have confirmed the European showdown will go ahead as planned.

"The police have talked to us and they have confirmed they will not take any action on UEFA Cup matchday," a club spokesman said.

UEFA also said they were monitoring the situation in Holland but were not anticipating Wednesday's game being called off.

"We are aware of the case and we are in contact with the local authorities and we haven't heard anything to suggest the match will not go ahead," a spokesman added.

"We are preparing for the fixture as we would any other."
