Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp is confident about his side's prospects against Sunderland at Fratton Park - as long as they can contain Kenwyne Jones.
The Black Cats striker has scored just one goal in his last 15 appearances, but Redknapp is certain the powerhouse will be the main threat to his team's European ambitions in Saturday's fixture.
Redknapp saw Jones give the Pompey defence, and Sol Campbell in particular, a real battering in a rare 2-0 away defeat at the Stadium of Light last month.
The 23-year-old has been a revelation on Wearside this season, after he left Southampton - where he briefly worked with Redknapp two years ago.
Redknapp sees similarities between Jones and Chelsea striker Didier Drogba - and knew then he had the assets to make the highest level.
"Kenwyne Jones is a threat, and I've been impressed with him," he said.
"He's a fantastic athlete with a great leap - and he caused us problems up there. I've seen him batter a lot of defenders this season and when I worked with him at Southampton.
"I always thought he was a player you would be scared to sell unless it was for big money. I thought 'this could be one which comes back to haunt you'."
Redknapp is not surprised that the Trinidad and Tobago international has become a crowd favourite on Wearside - even though he has scored just six times.
"I've heard some people are calling him the new Drogba - and that's possible," added Redknapp. "At one time he needed to be more aggressive, and it seems like the penny is dropping with him.
"At Southampton I thought Kenwyne had everything needed to be a top, top player. I just didn't know whether he would put it all together, because he seemed too relaxed at times with that typical West Indian style.
"But he has pushed on. He has got it all - (Sunderland manager) Roy Keane has managed to get the best out of him.
"Roy is pushing him and pushing him, and Kenwyne probably realises what he can achieve now."
