Queiroz denies Benfica reports

Queiroz denies Benfica reports March 12 2008

Manchester United assistant manager Carlos Queiroz has quashed rumours linking him with the vacant managerial post at Benfica.

The Portuguese mentor is touted as the favoured candidate to replace former 'Encarnados boss Jose Antonio Camacho.

Queiroz has held the adoration of the Estadio da Luz outfit since 2005, following his unsuccessful spell in the Real Madrid hot seat.

The Red Devils' tactician has denied being contacted by the club and maintains he is content at Old Trafford.

He told Skysports: "I won't ever say never, but there have been no discussions or talks.

"Benfica was of interest to me in the past but I am at Manchester United and there are many more challenges in front of me."
