So confident is Sven Goran Eriksson that he will remain Manchester City boss next season that he has been given the go-ahead to customise his luxury hotel suite.

There have been question marks raised over the long-term prospects of Eriksson staying in Eastlands following the team's disappointing second half to the campaign.

However, he is not unduly worried about his future and hopes to speak to owner Thaksin Shinawatra when he visits England next weekend.

"I have already held discussions with the boss of the hotel on what to do with my suite," confirmed the Swedish tactician.

"No, I'm not going to buy it. There are some changes to make and they will be made.

"My next move is to talk to the owner of City next weekend. The situation is not a worry for me. I have been around for a long time and I will stick around for a long time too.

"I hope I won't be driven out of football, whatever happens. I would like to stay in this country. I have never really had any thoughts about leaving."
