Dickov revels in new lease of life

Dickov revels in new lease of life February 26 2008

Loan star Paul Dickov hopes he has proved his critics wrong after scoring his fifth goal in four starts for Blackpool on Saturday.

The veteran Manchester City striker was on target yet again during the Seasiders' 5-3 hammering of Charlton at the weekend.

Dickov's arrival has breathed new life into Blackpool's campaign and the 35-year-old admits he is loving life with Simon Grayson's men.

The former Scotland international - whose contract at Eastlands ends in the summer - said: "It's been a new lease of life joining Blackpool and it is great for me.

"I know people go on about my age and I know before I came here there were a lot of clubs that looked at me and maybe thought my legs had gone. I like to think I'm proving quite a few people wrong about that.

"I'm loving it here. I'm getting chances, the lads are creating chances for me, and thankfully they are going in the back of the net."
