Manchester City midfielder Dietmar Hamann has been rewarded with a new one-year deal at Eastlands.
The former Germany international, who has also played for Newcastle, Liverpool and Bolton, struggled with injuries during his first season at City following his arrival in the summer of 2006.
However, Hamann has been in impressive form under Sven-Goran Eriksson and has started 23 of the Blues' 26 games in the Premier League this campaign.
The 34-year-old, who was the man of the match in the derby win over Manchester United on Sunday, has now put pen to paper on a new 12-month contract at the club.
