Fulham forward Jari Litmanen has been instructed to rest by a specialist after suffering a heart scare during training.
The 37-year-old, who joined the Cottagers on a free transfer in January, has yet to feature for his new club although he has been working towards full fitness.
However, the Finland international experienced "palpitations" while participating in a training session and was rushed off to a specialist.
Litmanen's problem is not believed to be serious and he is expected to return "next week", with the Premier League club confirming that the player is recuperating at home.
"Jari was experiencing some palpitations and he was immediately taken to see a specialist and was told to rest," a club spokesman told The Sun.
"It does not appear to be too serious and we hope to have him back next week."
