Sebastien Frey shrugged off his individual heroics after his saves against Everton sent Fiorentina through to the UEFA Cup quarter-finals.
The Viola won 4-2 on penalties at Goodison Park on Wednesday night after the home side bounced back from their 2-0 first-leg deficit to level the tie and take the game to extra-time.
Frey then saved Phil Jagielka's penalty after Ayegbeni Yakubu's effort hit the post, leaving winger Mario Santana to clinch the win with the visitors' fourth successful penalty kick.
"It was a special evening," said Frey. "We suffered a lot during the game. Everton proved to be a great team.
"Regarding Jagielka's penalty kick, I chose the right path and I went for it but the victory is the merit of the great effort the whole team showed during the game."
The Florence-based outfit will find out on Friday who they will face in the next round.
