Terry rages at Blues' cup exit

Chelsea skipper John Terry has slammed his side's FA Cup quarter-final exit at the hands of Barnsley, calling it 'unacceptable'.

The west Londoners were surprisingly dumped out of the competition they won last season by a single goal at Oakwell to leave coach Avram Grant under more pressure at Stamford Bridge.

Grant made five changes for their Barclays Premier League clash against Derby and Terry lashed out at the team's dreadful display in South Yorkshire.

"The result and the performance weren't acceptable and everyone in the team must take their share of the responsibility.

"Everyone needs to perform when selected. We can't have any more days like Saturday. Losing the FA Cup was horrible.

"We all know it is a long time since Chelsea have lost to a side from a lower division but that wasn't the sickener on Saturday. Losing was the sickener."

Disappointed Terry insists that Chelsea must now concentrate on the Barclays Premier League title race and their quest for glory in Europe.

Terry added: "We know what we have to do in the remainder of the season. We need to be strong in all areas throughout the club.

"If we remain together, hungry, disciplined and focused, we can move up the Premier League. And when your starting position is third, moving up is pretty much going to the top.

"Every game is a big game from now until the end of the season. And that is how it should be. That's how it is for Manchester United, Arsenal and

Liverpool.

"We know what we have to do, we have to be better than them."
