Cech: Ruled out

Preview: Barnsley v Chelsea March 07 2008

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has been ruled out of the FA Cup quarter-final against Barnsley and his ankle injury is expected to sideline him for at least a further week.

Andriy Shevchenko played for the reserves this week but is not ready for first-team action yet.

Boss Avram Grant must decide whether to keep Michael Ballack and Frank Lampard in midfield after the pair impressed in the previous two games.

Barnsley manager Simon Davey is keeping team selection under wraps.

The Tykes manager gave little away other than to confirm he will notify the players of his starting line-up well in advance of the quarter-final tie at Oakwell.

Davey, who has made changes for each of his side's last three matches, also confirmed he would pick his starting XI from the same squad, with no new injury or suspension problems.

Kayode Odejayi, Sam Togwell and Dennis Souza all returned to the starting line-up for the midweek draw at Blackpool and are in contention, as is defender Rob Kozluk, who missed out through suspension.

Daniel Nardiello, Istvan Ferenczi and Diego Leon, all unused substitutes at Bloomfield Road, are expected to feature prominently against Chelsea.

Squads:

Chelsea: Cudicini, Hilario, A Cole, Makelele, Essien, Carvalho, Lampard, J Cole, Drogba, Mikel, Ballack, Malouda, Bridge, Ferreira, Kalou, Ben Haim, Wright-Phillips, Terry, Alex, Belletti, Anelka.
