Goals from Dimitar Berbatov and Jonathan Woodgate gave Tottenham a 2-1 win in the final. Here's how the players rated...
CHELSEA
PETR CECH: The Blues number one showed both his best and worst. The Czech international made a decent save from Steed Malbranque in the first half, but guessed wrong with the penalty. Then made a superb late stop - with his face - from Didier Zokora to keep Chelsea in it, but punched the ball in off Jonathan Woodgate's head for the Spurs winner during extra-time - 6.
JULIANO BELLETTI: After a somewhat nervous start, the Brazilian defender showed good composure. Got forwards down the right flank well - 7.
RICARDO CARVALHO: Was kept busy by the runs of Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov, but handled the pressure and proved a calming influence - 7.
JOHN TERRY: Chelsea captain threw himself into the match right from the start, making an important early block from Keane's goal-bound shot. Commanded his team from the back - 8.
WAYNE BRIDGE: After what had been an effective display from the Chelsea left-back, Bridge gave away the penalty with a careless handball to let Spurs back into the game - 6.
MICHAEL ESSIEN: Always keen for the ball, and produced some strong challenges in the centre of midfield. Also got back to help out the defence - 7.
FRANK LAMPARD: Solid showing from the England man, if without setting Wembley alight. Kept the ball moving well and was not afraid to try his luck from distance - 7.
MIKEL JOHN OBI: Nigeria international worked hard and covered plenty of ground. However, had limited impact in the final third - 6.
SHAUN WRIGHT-PHILLIPS: Given plenty of license to roam, and was a constant threat with his pace. Tracked back when needed - 7.
NICOLAS ANELKA: Former Arsenal man was pushed out to the left of the attack, but had limited impact from wide positions. Looked more comfortable when attacking down the middle, but was well shacked by the Spurs rearguard - 6.
DIDIER DROGBA: Ivory Coast striker had a quiet start to the match, before opening the scoring with an opportunist free-kick which caught Spurs keeper Paul Robinson napping - 8.
SUBSTITUTES:
SALOMON KALOU (for Wright-Phillips, 72): Sent on to try to wrestle the advantage back from Spurs. Had good chance in extra-time, but Robinson saved well - 6.
MICHAEL BALLACK (for Essien, 88): German midfielder had little chance to make an impact in normal time - 6.
JOE COLE (for Mikel, 98): Was finally introduced when Chelsea were chasing the game, and could not conjure up a way back into the match - 7.
TOTTENHAM
PAUL ROBINSON: The England goalkeeper had little to worry about as Spurs dominated the opening half-hour, but was out of position for the Chelsea goal. Had recovered composure by extra-time and reacted well to deny Kalou from close range - 6.
ALAN HUTTON: The recent signing from Rangers was full of running and tried to give an outlet down the right. However, was often pulled inside when tracking back - 6.
JONATHAN WOODGATE: England defender proved the match winner after what had been a composed display. The January signing from Middlesbrough was solid under pressure, making some important blocks, and was also an attacking threat at set pieces, as shown with his extra-time header - 9.
LEDLEY KING: Spurs captain helped keep Anelka quiet and worked hard to limit Drogba's influence. Led the defensive line and was quick to move the ball forwards - 8.
PASCAL CHIMBONDA: Hit the top of the bar with a looping header in the first half. Less than impressed when he was substituted on the hour as Spurs made a tactical change, and headed straight down the tunnel - 6.
AARON LENNON: Lively start to the game for the winger, and although he could not maintain high tempo throughout, it was his cross which lead to the penalty - 7.
JERMAINE JENAS: Covered plenty of ground, and delivered some useful set plays into the Chelsea area. His deep free-kick lead to the somewhat fortunate winner for Woodgate in extra-time - 7.
DIDIER ZOKORA: Was keen to get into the thick of the action, but perhaps too much as he was booked for the challenge on Drogba which lead to Chelsea's goal. But he did make up for the foul by superbly breaking play down in midfield on numerous occasions. Solid display bar his finishing - 7.
STEED MALBRANQUE: French midfielder contributed well at both ends, and had a decent first-half shot saved by Cech. Faded in the second half and was eventually replaced - 7.
DIMITAR BERBATOV: Could have done better with an early header, but kept his cool to equalise from the spot in the second half - 7.
ROBBIE KEANE: Republic of Ireland striker was full of running, and caused Chelsea plenty of problems with his lively start. Always a threat around the box - 7.
SUBSTITUTES
TOM HUDDLESTONE (for Chimbonda, 62): Settled quickly after coming on and was his pressure which lead to the penalty - 7.
TEEMU TAINIO (for Malbranque, 75): Sent on by Juande Ramos as he reshuffled the defence after the equaliser, and gave a solid performance at left-back - 7.
YOUNES KABOUL (for Keane, 102): Did what was asked of him as Spurs bolstered their backline to close out the match - 6.
