Goals from Paul Parry, Kevin McNaughton and Joe Ledley gave Cardiff the perfect preparation for the FA Cup final with a 3-0 win over Barnsley.
The Bluebirds dominated throughout and were well worth the victory which brought to an end their three game winless run.
Parry, who missed the semi-final win over the Tykes, further enhanced his claims for a starting berth at Wembley against Portsmouth with the opener (44) before McNaughton (49) and Ledley (63) struck in the second half to secure City the points.
Barnsley, who secured their Championship safety last weekend, looked comfortable on the ball but were well short of ideas in the final third.
The scoreline could have been even more emphatic had it not been for some last ditch defending and the intervention of the woodwork which denied Peter Whittingham in the first half.
