Leon Cort cancelled out Ben Burgess' effort as Stoke drew 1-1 against Blackpool to go one-point clear at the top of the Championship.

The hosts started strongly as Salif Diao volleyed just over with 50 seconds gone, and Mamady Sidibe headed against the post on five minutes.

Burgess broke the deadlock on 37 minutes, dispatching a low, right-footed 20-yard drive which appeared to take a slight deflection off Leon Cort before beating goalkeeper Carlo Nash.

Stoke hauled themselves level two minutes into the second half.

Gallagher's corner was headed by Burgess into the path of Cort, who volleyed in from six yards.

With 17 minutes remaining, Chris Riggott headed wide while Claus Jorgensen skewed wide from 35 yards at the other end.

Jorgensen made a superb goal-line clearance in the last minute as he hacked Sidibe's header to safety.
