Dimitar Berbatov scored twice for Tottenham as West Ham suffered their third consecutive 4-0 defeat in the Premier League at White Hart Lane.

Spurs went ahead in the eighth minute when Jonathan Spector was penalised for a foul on Berbatov, who headed Tom Huddlestone's resulting free-kick skidding into the far corner.

And the pair combined again three minutes later from the opposite flank with Berbatov's header this time beating Robert Green at the near post.

The Hammers' hopes of a comeback were effectively ended a minute before half-time when Luis Boa Morte received his second yellow card for a foul on Aaron Lennon.

And things got worse for Alan Curbishley's side in the second half with Gilbero scoring with a shot on the turn six minutes from time and fellow substitute Darren Bent adding a fourth with a stoppage-time header.
