Owen 60

Middlesbrough 1

Huth 87

Newcastle 1 Middlesbrough 1 February 03 2008

Kevin Keegan is still hunting his first win as Newcastle boss after Robert Huth's late header earned Middlesbrough a derby draw.

Michael Owen thought he had grabbed all three points when he powered home a header on 60 - but Huth steered a looping header from Julio Arca's right-wing cross on 87 over Shay Given and into the net.

It could have been worse for Keegan as Stewart Downing crashed a stoppage-time free-kick against the upright before Jeremie Aliadiere thumped the rebound home, only to be denied by an offside flag.

The Magpies earlier had two first-half Owen goals ruled out, first for a foul on Mark Schwarzer and then because Emre's corner went out of play.

And Damien Duff also had a goal ruled out for offside on 66 before a frenzied finish saw both sides waste last-gasp chances to secure all three points.
