Manchester United earned a point deep in injury time at Tottenham but still lost top place in the Premier League following a 1-1 draw.
Carlos Tevez celebrated the equaliser but the ball appeared to come off Michael Dawson.
Earlier, United players were furious at Dimitar Berbatov's opener as they felt Jermaine Jenas handled in the build-up before Aaron Lennon crossed.
Robbie Keane played Jenas through and his run was halted in the box by Owen Hargreaves.
The Red Devils thought Jenas trapped the ball with his hand, with Lennon then taking the ball into the box and Berbatov tapping in on 21 minutes after Edwin van der Sar had parried the cross.
United piled forward in the latter stages and both Dawson and Tevez looked to connect with a corner from the right to rescue a point, leaving the champions two points behind leaders Arsenal.
