Arsenal emphasised their Premier League title credentials on Saturday by winning 3-1 at Manchester City, who were previously unbeaten at home.
The Gunners hit the 60-point mark from their 25th top-flight encounter of the campaign although Manchester United, with a superior goal difference, could regain the number-one spot if they triumph at Tottenham later in the day.
Emmanuel Adebayor reached the 20-goal mark for the Gunners when he netted the opener against City following a Bacary Sagna cross after just nine minutes.
His strike partner Eduardo da Silva added a classy second with an overhead kick on 26 minutes, only for Gelson Fernandes to quickly reduce the deficit.
City created some half-chances after the break but never seriously looked like scoring, and eventually Adebayor sealed victory two minutes from time.
