Fine goals from Andrew Johnson and James McFadden gave Everton a 2-0 win at Middlesbrough, taking them up to fifth in the Premier League.
The New Year's Day triumph at the Riverside has kept David Moyes' side's European ambitions firmly on track.
Boro had the best of the play but were too often let down by a lack of composure in the final third, with England winger Stewart Downing particularly culpable.
Toffees goalkeeper Tim Howard's inspiring stop from Gary O'Neil set the tone for the visitors' victory.
Soon after that save, Johnson dragged a powerful shot low across Mark Schwarzer and into the bottom-left corner on 67 minutes.
And five minutes later, McFadden and Johnson shared a measured one-two in the penalty box. The Scot then showed some silky close control as he ghosted into the danger area and stroked home with his left foot.
