Middlesbrough ended their season on a high as Mark Viduka's brace helped them to a 3-1 win in a meaningless last-day clash with Fulham.
Boro took the lead on 34 minutes when Jonathan Woodgate handed Viduka the chance to surge into the box and after creating half a yard for himself, the Australian dispatched his 18th goal of the season with a firm right-foot shot.
But the Cottagers levelled when David Wheater failed to cut out Carlos Bocanegra's hopeful long ball and his header fell to Simon Davies to lob the advancing Mark Schwarzer.
However, Wheater atoned for his error in the third minute of first-half stoppage time when he headed a Fabio Rochemback corner firmly home to make it 2-1.
And Viduka scored the third after the break when he used his strength to hold off Zat Knight and Philippe Christanval before thumping a shot home.
