Aston Villa 2 Chelsea 0 September 02 2007

Zat Knight scored on his Aston Villa debut as Chelsea's seven-month unbeaten Premier League record ended with a defeat at Villa Park.

Chelsea began positively, with Florent Malouda seeing a 20-yard effort deflected just wide and Scott Carson twice called into action to keep out low drives from Michael Essien and Shaun Wright-Phillips.

But it was Villa who went in front in the 47th minute when Knight rose high above Didier Drogba to head home Gareth Barry's inswinging corner, with Ashley Cole unable to clear off the line.

It was pretty much one-way traffic towards the Villa goal from here but Chelsea were caught on the counter-attack two minutes from time when Ashley Young embarked on a powerful run down the wing before smashing towards goal from the edge of the area, Gabriel Agbonlahor diverting his effort home from six yards.
