Didier Drogba's 33rd goal of the season in extra-time secured FA Cup final glory for Chelsea following a 1-0 win over Manchester United.

The game was goalless after 90 fairly dull minutes so headed into extra-time, where all the drama unfolded.

On 104 minutes, Wayne Rooney crossed from the right flank and found Ryan Giggs five yards out. The Welshman didn't quite connect from close range and after Petr Cech saved his shot, the veteran slid into the keeper and bundled him over the goalline with his momentum. No goal was awarded - but bizarrely no foul either.

Ivory Coast hitman Drogba headed into the sidenetting on 105 minutes - but was not to be denied and bagged the winner on 116 when he played a clever one-two with Frank Lampard and dinked the ball past Edwin van der Sar to end United's Double hopes and ensure Chelsea lift the cup.
