Wycombe 1 Chelsea 1 January 10 2007

Jermaine Easter's late strike embarrassed Chelsea and earned Wycombe a memorable draw in the first leg of their Carling Cup semi-final.

Easter struck on 77 minutes to cancel out Wayne Bridge's first-half strike and level the scores going into the second leg at Stamford Bridge on January 23.

Wayne Bridge, playing in an advanced position, opened the scoring in the 36th minute when he collected the ball from Salomon Kalou and lobbed it over the onrushing Ricardo Batista from the edge of the box.

But Easter equalised with 13 minutes left when he latched onto Tommy Mooney's flick, shrugged of Michael Essien and passed the ball low into the corner.

The goal maintained Easter's record of scoring in every round of the competition and sent the home fans into ecstasy.

Stefan Oakes sent a free-kick just wide as the game finished level.
