Liverpool tightened their grip on fourth in the Premier League as Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres helped them beat Blackburn at Anfield.
Supporters saw the worst of Gerrard in the first half when he took a dive in an attempt to win his side a penalty kick.
But the Reds faithful were treated to the best of the England midfielder 15 minutes into the second period when he scored a well-worked goal to put his side in firm control.
Torres headed a second eight minutes from time, scoring for the seventh game in a row at Anfield, and Andriy Voronin steered John Arne Riise's cross home in stoppage time to send Liverpool five points clear of city rivals Everton and ensure Roque Santa Cruz's late volley was mere consolation for the visitors.
