Portsmouth's Super Eagles landed their first Premier League win of the season as they came from behind to beat Bolton 3-1 at Fratton Park.

The Trotters went in front on 12 minutes as Nicolas Anelka surged forward onto a pass by El-Hadji Diouf, held off Hermann Hreidarsson and blasted through goalkeeper David James.

Pompey were level within four minutes, however, with a Nwankwo Kanu tap in. John Utaka provided the set-up when he knocked back Gary O'Neil's cross for the lanky striker.

Harry Redknapp's men roared ahead on the half-hour with a thrilling goal by Utaka. Kanu's touch was perfect to send his fellow Nigerian speeding clear down the middle and he rounded goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen before sliding the ball into an empty net.

Sammy Lee's troops pressed for an equaliser but when Gerald Cid felled Kanu in the box two minutes from time, Matthew Taylor sealed victory from the spot.
