Birmingham 2 Sunderland 2 August 15 2007

Stern John scored a last-minute leveller as Sunderland fought back to draw at Birmingham in the battle of the promoted sides.

Paul McShane turned the ball past his own goalkeeper to give Birmingham the half-time lead.

Sebastian Larsson's 28th minute free-kick caused havoc in the Black Cats' box and resulted in McShane accidentally chesting the ball past Craig Gordon.

But man of the moment Michael Chopra scored his second goal in as many games to level the scores with a brilliant left-footed finish into the top corner with 15 minutes remaining.

But Blues snatched the lead again on 82 when Garry O'Connor collected the ball from Mikael Forssell and beat Gordon with a neat finish.

But John levelled at the death to rescue the Black Cats when Nyron Nosworthy sent a loose ball across goal and he scored from just three yards out.
