A four-goal super show from Frank Lampard re-ignited the debate over his long-term future as Chelsea beat Derby 6-1 at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues went in front on 28 minutes when Lampard was upended by sub Dean Leacock and sent Roy Carroll the wrong way from the spot.
Chelsea added a second three minutes before half-time.
Lampard found Nicolas Anelka racing down the middle but Carroll and Darren Moore were guilty of hesitating and when the County keeper's clearance landed at the feet of Salomon Kalou, he netted from 25 yards.
Lampard scored his second on 57 following a cross from Joe Cole.
Cole then netted on 64 after Anelka's initial shot was saved by Carroll.
A minute later, Lampard grabbed his hat-trick with a 25-yard effort and added his fourth on 72 before Derby scored a consolation moments later through sub David Jones.
