Tottenham ended their dismal first week of the season on a high, sweeping aside Derby 4-0 to ease the pressure on manager Martin Jol.
Steed Malbranque opened his account for the campaign in the second minute when Jermaine Jenas touched a free-kick to him 20 yards out and the Frenchman fired past Stephen Bywater.
Malbranque's second soon followed when he controlled a Darren Bent cross at the far post before dispatching another superb effort past the Rams keeper.
Astonishingly it was 3-0 after 14 minutes when Jenas made a brilliant run through the heart of the visiting defence before sliding the ball past the hapless Bywater via the post.
It took until 10 minutes from time for the home side to add to their tally when Pascal Chimbonda's header was turned onto the bar by Bywater but Bent was there to nod the ball home from a yard.
