Derby 2 Portsmouth 2 August 11 2007

Andy Todd scored on his debut to ensure Derby's Premier League return ended with a respectable 2-2 draw against Portsmouth at Pride Park.

Rams fans were hoping for something to cheer about early on and they got it after just five minutes when Matt Oakley sent a 15-yard drive beyond David James following Steve Howard's flick-on.

Derby continued to press but they were pegged back in the 27th minute when Benjani Mwaruwari skipped past Andy Griffin's challenge before slotting underneath Stephen Bywater from 15 yards.

Chances continued to fall Derby's way after the interval but they fell behind in the 82nd minute when Sylvain Distain and Hermann Hreidarsson combined to set up John Utaka for a debut goal.

However, within seconds remaining, Todd, also on his debut, clinched a deserved point for the Rams with a powerful diving header.
