Igor Denisov and Konstatin Zyryanov scored second-half goals as Zenit St Petersburg beat Rangers 2-0 to win the UEFA Cup in Manchester.
The Russians had the better of a rather tame first half with Andrei Arshavin, Anatoliy Tymoschuk and Radek Sirl all trying their luck.
The Gers made a lively start to the second period with Jean-Claude Darcheville's effort pushed out by Viacheslav Malafeev and the following scramble saw Zenit survive a handball appeal and Barry Ferguson hit the outside of the post.
Sasa Papac then headed off the line from Arshavin's chipped effort but they opened the scoring after 72 minutes when Denisov calmly stroked home from 10 yards.
Nacho Novo fired over as the Scottish giants pushed forward and the Russians wrapped the game up three minutes into added-on time when Zyrianov put the ball in the back of the net from close range.
