A virtuoso performance by Adrian Mutu inspired Fiorentina to a 2-0 win over PSV Eindhoven and into the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup.
Mutu struck at either side of half-time, his opener a stunning 30-yard strike, as the Italians dominated at the Philips Stadion to earn a 3-1 aggregate success and book a meeting with Rangers in the last four.
The hosts could have kept themselves in contention with 10 minutes remaining but Fiorentina goalkeeper Sebastien Frey saved Timmy Simons' spot-kick.
With the hosts needing only to keep a clean sheet following a 1-1 draw in the first leg, it was the Italians that took the initiative although PSV had the first chance of the game.

Fiorentina took the lead in the 37th minute with Fabio Liverani setting up Mutu from a set-piece before the Romanian thumped home his first of the evening.
Mutu struck again after 53 minutes when Giampaolo Pazzini's right-footed strike was parried by Heurelho Gomes but only as far as the former Chelsea striker who slotted home from 12 yards out.
The hosts had a golden chance to get back in the game with the referee pointing to the penalty spot after Tomas Ujfalusi had pushed Danzo Lakovic inside the area.
Simons' strike was met by a fine save from Frey as Fiorentina held on for a deserve win.
